I am Lara Azul
I am mythical figure, fairytale femme fatale
I am Laurentia, crowned in laurel
I am Lala, the talkative nymph
I blurt out the unspeakable
Not afraid to comfort in death
and slay the taboo
I am Lara Azul
fierce and gentle,
both terror and tenderness
I am surreal and I am Dada
fresh like a child and yet I am ancient
I am a fool of the gods and a fairy godmother
I am mocked and love with laughter
Azure, the blue of the heavens
Blue is the color of truth
Beyond the sky I gaze into endless space
Beneath the depth of the oceans
blue deepens into the unknowable
Once, blue pigments rivaled gold
So too, does truth in love outweigh measure or worth.

Newfound wisdom in ancient tales
I am oblivious, ludicrously delusional
I laugh, I weep, I curse and I dance
I am creation and I do create
I am both vast like the cosmos
and small like the mustard seed
